The Book of Revelation
NEW 28.5.2026
The Book of Revelation bears witness to the final days of the Babylonian era, the beginning of which is described in the second chapter of the Book of Daniel. Throughout history, it has encouraged and continues to encourage purity of faith, the search for God's kingdom and His righteousness, and faithfulness to Christ; yet it has also been used to prematurely proclaim the end of the world, since the book announces the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ right at the beginning [Rev 1:7]. For some, the Book of Revelation is a source of encouragement and motivation to reflect on this prophecy; for others, it is a source of doubt as to whether this book still has any prophetic significance today. The Book of Revelation is divided into several parts, the structure of which is largely determined by the so-called "sevens." These are the letters, the seals, the trumpets, and the bowls. The sevens, their content, and the meaning of their messages are the subject of this study. However, the basic division is found in verses 1:19, into "Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;" and in 4:1, into "Come up here, and I will show you things which must be hereafter."
